The Stream Would Have No Song

Mahonie braved muddy waters and mosquitoes so that I could obtain this lovely image of her, taken near Indian Springs, Georgia, in 2010. She was my finest muse, and an amazing, thoughtful, fragile human being. She loved art for art’s sake.

The title of this image comes from a line attributed to Carl Perkins: “If it weren’t for the rocks in its bed, the stream would have no song.”
